    What is a Tokonoma?

Tokonoma, or Toko, is a uniquely Japanese architectural feature that provides a designated space for displaying art.
This aesthetic focal point of the home may include an Ikebana arrangement, a landscape scroll, bonsai, or
other objects of beauty that together express a three-dimensional story of harmony and transience.
The overall result is an uncluttered sense of upliftment and seasonal connection to nature.
